### Position Overview

The Specialist, Digital Communications, is responsible for Consumer Brands digital presence from their website through their social media outlets. Duties range from the development and execution of the organization’s day-to-day communications operations to producing high-quality communication deliverables that contribute to the overall success of our strategic priorities. This individual plays a critical cross-functional role in promoting the association’s advocacy agenda and programs. Reporting to the Manager, Content Strategy, this role is the go-to partner for various digital asset projects across the function – from executing member communications to driving growth of the organization’s social platforms.

### Key Areas of Responsibility

**Digital Asset and Content Management**
– Update content for the association’s websites, as needed, based on content strategies and editorial calendar.
– Maintain and monitor the website’s content and ensure that the content is current, consistent, audience-appropriate, and accurate.
– Ensure all new communications (blog posts, press releases, research reports) are represented accurately and posted in a timely manner.
– Manage the design process for digital collateral with outside vendors.
– Manage complex digital asset projects including website design and improvements.

**Social Media Posting and Analytics**
– Lead and manage the association’s and association executives’ (as appropriate) social media presence to enhance visibility and thought leadership, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
– Develop and execute social media campaigns as needed and track and report performance.
– Monitor social media trends and identify opportunities to engage in conversations driving the day.
– Manage and review digital newsletter communications and provide regular performance analysis, as needed.
– Organize and maintain photos, digital assets, and team SharePoint files.

### Requirements

**Experience and Education**
– Bachelor’s degree required
– 3-5 years in communications role or internships with increasing responsibility required
– Proficiency with software including WordPress, Adobe Acrobat, and Canva preferred
– Proficiency with social media tools used to maximize effectiveness of the channels (HootSuite, Nuvi, etc.)
– Experience managing a photo library and assets desirable
– Experience with Google analytics preferred

**Skills**
– Excellent written communications skills
– Excellent copy-editing skills preferred
– Superior project management skills including the ability to juggle multiple priorities, manage deadlines and budgets, and work with little supervision
– Solid interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and to build and maintain strong relationships with members and other key stakeholders
– Interest in identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities
– Ability to manage multiple tasks, take direction and prioritize work
– Excellent customer service skills and email etiquette
– Highly collaborative and able to work and thrive in a cross-functional team environment
– Passionate about learning the CPG industry and excited to drive results
– Agility in learning new software and/or computer/technical applications
– Receptive to feedback and direction and in search of constant self-improvement
– A self-starter with the ability to work independently
– HTML experience a plus
– Advanced proficiency in Office 365 Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
