About the Program:

WRI’s Energy Program speeds the transition to a low-carbon, inclusive energy future by helping to build clean energy markets and change institutions. The U.S. Energy team focuses on decarbonization of the power and transportation sectors, working with local and state governments, large energy buyers, utilities, and others. We implement federal funding and programs through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to accelerate equitable deployment of clean energy. Our team accelerates deployment of renewable and clean energy technologies, addressing barriers and supporting policies for 100% clean energy in the power sector. WRI integrates equity and social justice into all work supporting the clean energy transition.

Job Highlight:

Reporting to the Lead – Energy Program, you will provide expert support to the US Energy team on strategies to advance equitable uptake of solar and clean energy technologies. You will manage and support projects providing technical assistance, convening stakeholders, authoring knowledge products, and communicating research findings. Your role includes hosting stakeholder meetings, engaging partners, and expanding WRI’s clean energy solutions.

What You Will Do:

Project Management (40%):

  • Manage projects for foundations and government entities, ensuring team meets deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
  • Supervise junior researchers and interns, coordinate across WRI areas, and contribute to fundraising efforts.

Stakeholder Engagement, Outreach, and Partnerships (30%):

  • Organize meetings, workshops, and conferences, developing partnerships to advance our work.
  • Attend external events, represent WRI’s US Energy team, and communicate findings in industry events and media.

Knowledge, Research and Analysis (30%):

  • Lead research on decarbonization of power and transportation sectors, develop reports, and demonstrate thought leadership in clean energy adoption.
  • Contribute to electric grid barriers and utility business models for EVs, presenting complex information clearly.

What You Will Need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, sustainable energy, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in utility issues related to clean energy deployment, with published research.
  • Skills: Ability to engage diverse stakeholders, manage priorities, and present complex information clearly.
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization, fluency in English.

Potential Salary:

Salary range is $96K to $110K USD, commensurate with experience.
