Lyft is looking for a Community Safety Policy Manager to join our Global Public Policy team based in Washington DC. This individual will be a subject matter expert on safety and accessibility policy issues, with experience and interest in the transportation industry. This person will collaborate cross-functionally with our safety, product, and marketing teams to develop safety and accessibility policies for domestic and international markets. This position will require 20 percent travel and report to the Senior Director of Global Public Policy.
The ideal candidate will have corporate and nonprofit experience, including a background in safety and accessibility issues.
### Responsibilities:
– Work cross-functionally with internal staff to develop trust and safety policy strategies that advance Lyft’s operations in the US and Canada.
– Gather insight and data to inform safety and accessibility policy within the company and provide quarterly updates to executive leadership teams.
– Collaborate with cross-functional partners to create accessible policy enforcement guides and to continuously maintain and improve our policies.
– Provide subject matter expertise to product, legal, safety, and policy teams on community safety and accessibility issues.
– Partner with international and domestic policy managers to brief lawmakers on Lyft safety and accessibility issues.
– Collaborate with public policy counsel to support and/or develop relevant safety and accessibility legislation.
– Serve as a spokesperson on behalf of the company at relevant safety and accessibility conferences.
– Develop internal policies that support the growth of rideshare and new mobility options.
### Experience:
– 5-7 years of policy and/or advocacy experience in community safety and/or accessibility issues.
– Experience working cross-functionally with internal business stakeholders.
– Exceptional strategic and problem-solving skills.
– Data analysis and the ability to translate to internal business partners and policy stakeholders.
– Natural connector and relationship builder.
– Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
– Ability to thrive and be responsive in a fast-paced environment.
– Self-starter; intrinsically motivated and a good teammate.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays, and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid
The expected base pay range for this position in the Washington D.C. area is $114,000-$142,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus, or benefits.
