### Position Overview
Reporting to the Chief, Engagement & Institutional Accountability, the Director will lead NCRC’s national coalition organizing and advocacy strategy overseeing outreach to and relationship management of national, state, and local stakeholders that support NCRC’s advocacy and policy priorities. This individual will work closely with the Membership team to grow NCRC’s membership across the country.
The ideal candidate must be a strategic planner with demonstrated experience in executing broad-based campaigns. Applicants should have a good temperament, a sense of humor, the ability to work collegially under the pressure of a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, and comfort working in a diverse environment.
Prior experience organizing in either political, non-partisan, issue-based, or candidate campaigns on the national and/or state level is required. This individual must be a self-starter with strong communication, writing, project management, and strategic planning skills. The candidate must also demonstrate a strong ability to work within cross-functional teams and have a commitment to growing the capacity of the department.
### Location
This position is remote within the US with a preference for candidates in the DC area.
### Responsibilities
#### Organizing
– Manage coalition outreach and relationships with national, state, and local partners
– Lead campaign strategy development, execution, and evaluation
– Develop materials, work plans, and accountability systems to implement organizing plans
– Collaborate with the communications and policy team to develop and implement strategic digital and in-person campaigns to mobilize public participation on topics related to our mission
– Identify and support impacted community members in writing blog posts, opinion articles, and letters to the editor
#### Advocacy
– Work with team members to mobilize the public to participate in opportunities for commenting on rulemaking or mergers and acquisitions, CRA exams, and testifying or submitting written comments
– Develop a process and assist community members in meeting with regional regulatory staff and financial institutions
– Collaborate with NCRC’s National Training Academy to lead the development and dissemination of advocacy resources for NCRC members and other stakeholders including presentations, trainings, webinars, how-to guides, etc.
#### Collaboration
– Create, maintain, evaluate, and adapt a structure that informs the appropriate NCRC colleagues of impacted community members’ experiences, priorities, and concerns to develop community-supported solutions
#### Reporting and Analysis
– Partner with appropriate team members to ensure data integrity and governance to enhance data collection and use to support reporting on key performance metrics
– Leverage performance reporting tools to track and analyze key performance metrics
– Prepare regular reports for management and maintain clear communication channels to update appropriate staff on key achievements, challenges, and opportunities
#### Team Management and Development
– Participate in team meetings and contribute insights for strategic planning purposes
– Provide management and oversight of direct report responsibilities to ensure performance expectations are clear and met
– Develop and maintain expertise in area of responsibility and apply that expertise to NCRC’s context and needs
– Manage, mentor, and support team members who report to you
#### Additional Responsibilities
– Represent NCRC at stakeholder meetings, events, conferences, and summits
– Assist with fundraising and resource development as needed
### Qualifications
– 5+ years of experience organizing in political, non-partisan, issue-based, or candidate campaigns on the national and/or state level required
– 3+ years of supervisory experience required
– Experience managing and leading diverse coalitions and working with minority communities strongly preferred
– Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, community or economic development, or public administration preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
– Strong initiative, leadership, and project management skills
– Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
– Ability to set and meet deadlines
– Excellent communication and public speaking skills
– Proficient computer skills
– Demonstrated commitment to racial, social, and economic justice
– Willingness to travel regularly
– Creative energy and ability to work well as part of a dynamic and diverse team
