SAIC is actively seeking a Persian linguist and cultural expert with an active TS/SCI to work within a diverse team of analysts, linguists, cultural experts, and operations officers. The focus will be on creating and recognizing targeting opportunities and strategies in the cyber-realm. The successful candidate will work in a team comprising various government, SAIC, and subcontractor personnel.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Exhibiting expertise in the Persian language and culture.
  • Assisting intelligence and analysis operations in a virtual environment, primarily using a mix of Persian and English reading and writing skills.
  • Navigating social media, open-source platforms, and relevant forums/websites in the Persian language.
  • Applying in-depth knowledge of desktop applications and internet-based research skills with advanced internet search tools and methods.
  • Identifying and reporting potential targets and trends.
  • Producing incident, threat, and information reports.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies, Business, Media/PR, Hard Sciences, or a related field (in-field experience may substitute for education requirements).
  • Minimum DLPT 3/3/2/2 or Equivalent (ILS, ILR, ALTA) in the Persian language.
  • Strong working knowledge of popular, legacy, and new social media platforms, forums, messaging services, blog sites, and mobile applications in English and/or Persian.
  • Proficiency in understanding idioms, colloquialisms, and slang, with a sophisticated understanding of the cultural, social, and political environment where the language is used.
  • Experience preparing information reports with excellent writing and briefing skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours (note: this position is not shift work).

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Additional experience with languages and cultures such as Farsi, Urdu, or Pashto.
  • Experience living overseas or native proficiency in Persian.
  • Former military linguistic experience (e.g., 35P, 09L, 1N3, 2671, 2712, 2799, or equivalent).
  • 3-5 years of experience within the U.S. military or intelligence community.
  • Active or recent CI Polygraph.

Required Security Clearance

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility (PR within 6 years).
  • Willingness to take and ability to pass a polygraph.

Additional Information
