Responsibilities
- Develops communication plans, including topics to emphasize and the most effective media to utilize in communicating with target audiences.
- Identifies, summarizes, and analyzes public comments submitted to the organization.
- Prepares articles for publication and other informational materials, crafting strategies to support total management efforts.
- Develops informational materials, such as news releases, fact sheets, feature stories, and background statements.
- Writes articles and speeches for organizational officials; prepares and publishes internal communication materials to keep personnel informed of programs, activities, and career opportunities.
- Writes public involvement plans to inform and involve the public on issues of local, state, and federal significance.
- Arranges and conducts workshops, seminars, and meetings with various organizations to stimulate participation in organizational activities and address concerns.
- Advises and assists in implementing systems to track and address pertinent complaints, concerns, and issues raised.
- Updates organization website, brochures, fact sheets, and other publications.
- Develops communication strategies with short-term and long-term goals and plans to achieve them.
- Evaluates the impact and effectiveness of communication plans, advising management on modifications as needed.
- Reviews public information materials, publications, media productions, and activities to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
- Initiates and prepares responses to inquiries about policies and activities.
- Prepares web-based content, updates organizational materials, and maintains a database of images from internal and external events.
