TEG is seeking a Public Affairs Account Executive to join our growing public affairs team. This role supports public affairs and issues management clients throughout the Gulf South, working across state and local markets where policy, public opinion, and stakeholder engagement directly impact business outcomes.
This position is well suited for someone early in their public affairs or government relations career, or a communications professional with a strong interest in public affairs and issues management. Curiosity, strong writing skills, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn are essential.
Responsibilities:
Support public affairs and issues management programs for clients across the Gulf South.
Monitor Gulf South regional, state, and local news and public policy developments relevant to client priorities.
Conduct research on public issues, stakeholder landscapes, regulatory environments, and public sentiment.
Draft and edit high-quality written materials, including talking points, press releases, advocacy content, and digital communications.
Assist with media, community, and stakeholder outreach efforts.
Coordinate and support events, meetings, and public engagements.
Participate in client and internal meetings, including preparation of agendas and follow-up action items.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget expectations.
Record and submit time, expenses, and project updates in accordance with agency procedures.
Represent The Ehrhardt Group professionally with clients, partners, media, and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Attributes:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
AP style proficiency.
Interest in public affairs, government relations, issue advocacy, or regulatory matters.
Ability to organize work, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Willingness to accept feedback and apply it consistently.
Sound professional judgment and discretion.
Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to client service excellence.
Qualifications:
Two to four years of experience in public affairs, communications, government relations, political campaigns, journalism, advocacy, or a related field.
Bachelor’s degree in political science, communications, public relations, journalism, business, marketing, liberal arts, or a related discipline.
Exposure to media relations, stakeholder engagement, or public policy environments.
Work Environment and Mobility Requirements:
This is an active, client-facing role. Candidates must have:
Reliable personal transportation.
The ability and willingness to drive regularly throughout the Gulf South for meetings, events, and site visits.
Flexibility to attend early morning, evening, and occasional overnight commitments.
Comfort traveling regionally as client needs require.
This position is not suitable for candidates seeking limited travel or a primarily desk-based role.
