## Global Defense Government Relations Sector Leader
### The Opportunity
Booz Allen is seeking a Government Relations Sector Leader supporting the Global Defense business and Defense Technology portfolio. This individual will serve as both the external spokesperson and internal champion for a multi‑year government relations strategy designed to grow the company’s Global Defense business by achieving measurable outcomes and building relationships with key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the military services, national security policy, and the evolving landscape of defense acquisition and defense technology. The role requires a collaborative leader committed to excellence in government relations and dedicated to fostering a high‑performing function. Intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, continuous learning, sound judgment, and openness to differing perspectives are essential.
### What You’ll Work On
– Own and evolve the company’s government relations strategy for defense policy, military modernization, and defense technology.
– Lead the annual strategy to ensure the company is shaping key issues in the defense authorization cycle and appropriations process.
– Build and sustain a strong network of relationships with defense policymakers in Congress and the Executive Branch, engaging senior executives to advance goals.
– Serve as the principal Government Relations advisor to Defense business leadership, providing political counsel on reputational, business, and policy risks.
– Partner closely with Legal and defense business teams to navigate shifts in defense acquisition policy and advocate for favorable outcomes.
– Prepare and support business leaders at external defense policy forums, conferences, and meetings with senior elected officials and Administration policymakers.
– Deliver timely analysis of legislative, budgetary, and policy developments affecting the defense and national security market, translating implications for leadership.
– Collaborate with Media, Strategic Communications, and engagement teams to elevate the company’s profile at major events and identify opportunities to shape policy debates.
– Participate in planning and executing the Political Action Committee strategy.
### You Have
– 7+ years of experience in government relations or defense policy
– Experience with military modernization policy, the federal budget, and the defense authorization and appropriations process
– Experience working with Congress and the legislative process, particularly with the House and Senate Armed Services Committees
– Knowledge of the defense acquisition process, including commercial buying practices, FAR reform, dual‑use technologies, and OTAs
– Knowledge of the national security community and interagency process
– Ability to build long‑term relationships with policymakers and build internal consensus on policy positions
– Ability to represent the company externally with credibility, professionalism, and integrity
– Ability to serve as a registered lobbyist
– Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
– Bachelor’s degree
### Nice If You Have
– Experience in defense policy roles on Capitol Hill or within a national security‑focused federal agency
– Experience with a defense contractor, technology company, trade association, or government relations guidance
– Ability to navigate a complex corporate environment and align government relations strategy with business goals
– Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, plus proficiency with digital collaboration platforms and generative AI tools
– Strong political judgment and discretion
– TS/SCI clearance

Salary is determined by factors including location, education, skills, experience, and contract‑specific requirements.
**Projected compensation range:** $142,900.00 to $266,000.00 (annualized USD).
