**Compensation:** $125K–$300K+ per year & Up to $5,000 Performance-Based Fast-Start Bonus Opportunity | Paid Training
**Job Type:** Full-time, In-person.

At NY State Solar, we design, build, and install high-quality solar energy systems across New York. Our mission is to deliver exceptional customer experiences while helping communities transition to economically and environmentally sustainable energy solutions.

An Energy Consultant will serve as an in-home consultant, educating and guiding local homeowners interested in going solar, while acting as a trusted partner and liaison throughout the entire process.

### Responsibilities

– **Self-generated leads** — Sources and develops self-generated leads and appointments with potential customers
– **Sales presentations** — Conducts in-home sales presentations for potential customers
– **Sales targets** — Meets minimum required sales targets as set by leadership
– **Sales strategies** — Develops effective self-generation sales strategies
– **Customer evaluation** — Evaluates customers’ knowledge and needs, building productive long-lasting relationships
– **CRM reporting** — Accurately dispositions and reports on outcomes via our CRM tool
– **Post-sale transition** — Ensures a clean transition of post-sale activity to other teams by delivering complete customer information
– **Customer experience** — Provides an industry-leading customer sales experience from initial contact through installation and after the customer’s system is turned on
– **Pipeline management** — Manages the pipeline of activity from prospect to install by following up with all leads and in-home consultations
– **Appointment preparation** — Prepares for appointments by building proposals, preparing for objections, and calling customers to confirm appointments
– **Training attendance** — Attends required trainings
– **Industry knowledge** — Maintains current knowledge of industry developments by attending sales meetings, sales events, trainings, and industry events
– **Lead generation** — Engages in local proactive lead generation activities as defined by the metro market

### Qualifications

– **Education** — High school diploma or equivalent
– **Sales experience** — 1 year of sales experience
– **Track record** — Proven track record of sales and/or lead generation experience
– **Solar experience** — In-home and/or solar sales experience preferred
– **Technical skills** — Proficient in Google Suite and CRM tools; Salesforce preferred
– **Travel** — Must be able to spend approximately 80% of work time traveling within your local market
– **Availability** — Must be available to work nights, weekends, and some holidays
– **Cross-functional communication** — Ability to communicate and partner cross-functionally to address customer needs
– **Driving** — Ability to drive a vehicle during the normal course of business
– **Driving record** — Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check
– **Age requirement** — Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license

### Physical Demands

– **Travel** — Ability to drive to travel to and from customer locations
– **Vehicle entry** — Ability to get into and out of a vehicle multiple times per day
– **Standing** — May stand for an extended period of time while consulting with customers
