Mission Statement
The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country.

About the Foundation
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to eradicating homelessness amongst our veterans. The Foundation is seeking an experienced Assistant Director to assist in all matters as it relates our Homeless Veteran Initiative Program and to provide direct supervision to the Case Management team.

Position Overview
Applicants must be well organized, able to effectively multi-task within a timely fashion, prioritize workload, handle sensitive information and possess a keen attention to detail. This full-time position will have a work schedule that is a mix of some weekday and weekend shifts to ensure proper coverage for our expanding team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervision and Training
    • Supervise, team-build, coach, and train case management staff.
    • Develop staff’s competencies in client engagement, case management, clinical assessment, service plans, crisis intervention, housing connections, outreach, and external referral resources.
  • Documentation and Quality Assurance
    • Ensure accuracy and timely completion of required case documentation.
    • Monitor outcomes and data collection for various metrics related to Veteran assistance and rehabilitation.
  • Community Engagement
    • Coordinate with local, national, and Tunnel to Towers affiliate organizations to provide Veteran resources and referrals networks.
    • Build collaborative partnerships with VA officers, Departments of Homeless Services, Department of Veteran Services, local Continuums of Care, and other community providers.
  • Employee Management
    • Assist in the recruitment, selection, training, and orientation of new employees.
  • Crisis Intervention and Other Duties
    • Provide crisis intervention as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Social Services.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Master’s degree in Human Services and at least three years of managerial experience.
  • Experience working in homelessness, substance abuse, mental health and/or trauma settings preferred.
  • Experience working with Veterans or other homeless populations preferred.
  • Knowledge of VA, HRA, Social Security, and other public benefits and housing vouchers preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, etc.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

Special working conditions may include changes in days worked, shift hours, and/or working conditions (outdoors or other locations) when participating in special events such as the NYC Tunnel to Towers Run, golf outings, and other fundraising events, as required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
