Role Overview
New York Life’s Office of Governmental Affairs is seeking a proactive and motivated professional to assist our team of federal lobbyists with research, analysis, and monitoring of legislative and regulatory developments.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and report on conference calls and meetings of industry trade associations and stakeholder groups.
- Monitor and report on hearings, markups, and other legislative and regulatory events.
- Conduct research and analysis on legislative and regulatory issues affecting the company.
- Draft updates for internal stakeholders and material to support advocacy efforts.
- Assist with the planning and execution of fly-ins on Capitol Hill.
- Assist with other administrative and compliance matters.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience on the Hill or in a government affairs role.
- Strong understanding of the legislative process and government operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze complex policy issues and communicate them clearly.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, confidentiality, and discretion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay Transparency
- Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000
- Overtime Eligible: Exempt
- Discretionary Bonus Eligible: Yes
- Sales Bonus Eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors, including individual experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
