As an Associate, you will work with a wide range of clients, including corporate, association, nonprofit, and issue advocacy, and support the work of the firm to create deliverables that are creative, strong, and will help meet clients’ goals.

### Responsibilities

An Associate’s job responsibilities include:

– Crafting communications materials including press releases, presentations, and social media content.
– Owning pieces of research projects that will inform client work.
– Building media lists.
– Conducting media outreach and building relationships with reporters.
– Media monitoring, including broadcast, print, online, and digital.
– Successfully driving coverage for clients by pitching stories.
– Supporting client relationship management, including organizing calls and managing the workflow with the client and team.

### Qualifications

A successful candidate will have:

– 1-3 years of relevant experience in writing, research, and media-intensive positions such as political campaigns, media, government, agency, or similar organizations.
– Experience placing national print and broadcast stories; experience with diverse press is a plus.
– Strong writing and research skills with thorough knowledge of AP Style.
– A working knowledge of social media strategies for communications campaigns.
– Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
– The ability to effectively manage multiple projects and handle competing deadlines.

### Benefits

SKDK is committed to pay equity. SKDK believes the target base compensation in this role is $58,500. In addition to base salary, SKDK considers other key components as part of total compensation, including but not limited to an annual discretionary bonus, commission on new business, and a comprehensive benefits package. Actual base compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, such as skillset, level of experience, and location.
