Enterprise Security at Motorola Solutions
Motorola Solutions’ safety and security ecosystem – spanning video security, critical communications, and command center technologies – is helping to create safer schools, hospitals, stadiums, and businesses globally. Video cameras powered by responsibly-built AI alert security professionals when action is needed. Touchless access and advanced alarm and identity management systems help safeguard campuses and offices. Critical communications devices and networks seamlessly connect teams. And command center technology unifies data to simplify workflows and help enterprise security personnel make decisions with greater focus, accuracy, and speed.
Job Description
This position is an opportunity for a seasoned communications professional with media relations, issues management, and thought leadership experience to lead a strategic, external communications program for our Enterprise Security team. This role is based out of Motorola Solutions’ Chicago headquarters and will report to the head of the Global Communications & Media team.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic business partner, communications, and media counselor to Enterprise Security leadership including sales, product, and marketing teams, as well as government affairs, legal, and other organizations responsible for safeguarding corporate reputation.
- Lead the development and execution of product launch and lifecycle communications campaigns across the video solutions & access control and professional commercial radio portfolios to help drive awareness and sales.
- Develop product storylines and engage reporters, industry analysts, and key external audiences around priority narratives.
- Manage communications role in crisis/issues management plans, working cross-functionally to share critical information with internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with corporate communications on thought leadership initiatives that build brand and leadership credibility.
- Help educate the industry on Motorola Solutions’ commitment to the responsible development and deployment of safety and security technologies.
- Create well-crafted, concise, and highly-engaging communications including pitches, press releases, blog posts, and other materials needed to tell our Enterprise Security story.
- Build and maintain key media relationships and regularly pitch local, regional, national, trade, and tech outlets.
- Manage communications activities at and around priority NA tradeshows.
Specific Knowledge and Skills:
- Strategic thinker who can build a network, gather information, and translate it into communications content and plans that drive awareness and action.
- Outstanding storyteller with strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Savvy media strategist who knows how to leverage top-tier, trade, and local outlets for earned coverage, as well as paid, shared, and owned channels.
- Seasoned professional who exerts influence in navigating all levels of the organization and consistently exhibits strong judgment and commitment to excellence.
- Detailed project manager who leads complex workstreams with cross-functional contributors, meets tight deadlines, and easily adjusts as circumstances change.
- Bachelor’s degree; Journalism, Communications, or English preferred.
- 10+ years of communications experience with a corporation or public relations agency or in journalism.
