Overview

The Allergan Public Relations and Influencer Consultant will play a crucial role in expanding Allergan Aesthetics’ business by providing consultative support to key customers. This highly visible position will be an integral part of the PR and Influencer team, collaborating with commercial consulting and strategic account selling teams to compliantly promote and protect Allergan’s leadership in the aesthetic space. The focus is on delivering best-in-class, integrated PR and influencer strategies tailored to Allergan Aesthetics (AA) customers and collaborating across multiple teams to provide PR consulting services and influencer support to participating practices.

Director of APR & Influencer Responsibilities

The Director of APR & Influencer will collaborate closely with brand public relations, influencer, and corporate communications teams to develop programs aligning with brand strategies. Key priorities include educating practices on PR and influencer programs, assessing existing programs, providing media training, coaching on securing media interest, and developing strategic PR and influencer programs. Additionally, the director will assist practices in managing results metrics, reporting, and expectation setting.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work with Aesthetics Practice Consultants and Aesthetic Digital Consultants to promote and secure participation in the public relations consultancy.
  • Engage with interested practices to educate them on program participation, expectations, associated costs, and secure participation.
  • Achieve scalable goals, including program awareness, retention, customer sentiment, and meeting annual revenue targets.
  • Manage practice participation metrics and media/social media influencer coverage metrics.

Main Areas of Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and state, federal, and local laws.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of products, key messages, compliance, and regulatory requirements for the full product portfolio.
  • Develop training curriculum covering PR and influencer from novice to expert courses.
  • Lead in-market and online training courses for key accounts, inclusive of media training.
  • Analyze and oversee participating practices’ PR and social media influencer programs.
  • Demonstrate leadership in the account selling process and provide a long-term competitive advantage.
  • Participate in the customer targeting process, developing strategic PR and influencer marketing plans.
  • Direct the development of PR and influencer marketing programs.
  • Enforce and maintain brand and corporate guidelines within resulting practice programs.
  • Partner with cross-functional leads to deliver against business forecasts and company KPIs.
  • Develop clear pre-call meeting objectives and ensure timely communication and follow-up with customers.

Skills/knowledge required in:

  • Deep understanding of public relations and social media influencer tools and strategies.
  • Proficiency with media and influencer monitoring tools and methods (e.g., Cision, Meltwater, Muck Rack, Tribe, Julius, CreatorIQ).
  • Associated Press style writing, business English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proactive management of deadlines, working autonomously, and exercising good judgment.
  • Establishment and maintenance of cooperative working relationships.
  • Maintenance of confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strategic segmentation of large projects into smaller, actionable deliverables.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, journalism, related field, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years’ experience in PR and Influencer; previous sales experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time.
  • Agency experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Medical Aesthetic space is a plus.
