About the Role

The Director, Content & Education, is responsible for developing and designing innovative learning solutions tailored to the needs of the sports-based youth development (SBYD) field. The Director leverages expertise in learner-centered training modalities – including asynchronous learning, instructor-led trainings, and cutting-edge education technologies – to create impactful adult learning experiences. This position collaborates across the Foundation’s teams to ensure that education programs are relevant, effective, and scalable, advancing the mission of empowering communities through sports-based youth development.

About the Team

The Programs Department is responsible for operating, improving, and scaling the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s human-centered programs, namely our flagship Soccer for Success, Coach-Mentor Training, and Just Ball programs, to ensure that the Foundation remains at the forefront of the sports-based youth development (SBYD) field. This work involves following the latest SBYD best practices to innovate and tailor our curricula and training to meet the unique needs of underserved communities across the country. Designing and deploying pathways to scale, this team is responsible for driving the adoption of the Soccer for Success program and coach-mentor training methodology in youth-serving marketplaces across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop the Foundation’s training and education content, creating impactful learning experiences to engage 100,000 coaches and educators by 2030
  • Deliver best-in-class adult learning opportunities across self-paced, virtual, and in-person modalities
  • Lead the technical design and production of learning materials, modules, and infographics to enhance content delivery
  • Coordinate with diverse stakeholders to craft seamless, learner-centered training opportunities
  • Develop innovative and actionable training solutions, iterating based on the evolving needs of stakeholders
  • Ensure all curriculum and training content, including e-learning, instructor-led training, virtual instructor-led training, and blended learning formats, is delivered on time, within budget, and compliant with Section 508 standards
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of curriculum, course content, and platforms, identifying and resolving errors to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and professional production standards
  • Leverage platform authoring tools, educational technology trends, and best practices to design engaging and effective learning experiences
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to implement online simulations, interactive scenarios, and video production, including storyboarding and interactive video design
  • Manage the development and integration of the Foundation’s Salesforce platform to support online training strategies for coaches and educators across programs
  • Provide overall Salesforce administration support, including coordinating with Salesforce consultants as needed
  • Lead and manage assigned team members, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment aligned with organizational goals
  • Champion and advance the goals, mission, and culture of the U.S. Soccer Foundation through all activities and initiatives
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to advance the Foundation’s initiatives

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of and experience in sports-based youth development programming
  • Demonstrated commitment to issues impacting children and families, specifically in underserved communities
  • Proven expertise in designing high-quality training programs from inception, incorporating engaging and impactful design strategies
  • Strong experience editing instructional content to align with stated learning objectives to ensure clarity and effectiveness
  • Demonstrated creativity and proficiency in designing innovative e-learning experiences using industry-standard tools
  • Advanced proficiency in online learning platforms such as Absorb, Sakai, Coursera, WordPress, and Salesforce
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Analytics, social media platforms, email client platforms, and Salesforce
  • Extensive experience and aptitude for managing data systems, with a particular focus on Salesforce integration and utilization
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments with a wide range of staff
  • Self-starter, exhibiting a strong work ethic, ability to maximize work with minimal supervision
  • Strong oral, written, research, and interpersonal skills
  • Exhibit a positive behavior and attitude, and model a mature and professional demeanor
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of schedule, to include nights, weekends, and holidays
