Position Description
As Director of Paid Media, you will be responsible for leading a team helping to develop digital media strategies and plans to achieve clients’ goals. This is a client-facing role, and the ideal candidate will have experience managing clients’ expectations and KPIs. You will lead our paid advertising team and manage the content creation process for multiple clients from start to finish. Your creative thinking skills, strategic insight, and collaboration will be essential to your success. Salary for this position ranges from $110,000-$130,000.
Ideal candidates for this role should be creative and innovative, digitally and multimedia savvy, well-organized, and excellent writers and communicators. Candidates should have a firm grasp of different digital touchpoints, high awareness of media and politics, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- 4 – 6 years of digital advertising experience at a public affairs or advertising agency.
- Experience managing and leading a team of paid media strategists.
- Experience buying and managing cross-platform digital advertising programs, utilizing various assets including programmatic, social, search, display, video, and mobile.
- Experience managing awareness (branding or message) and acquisition programs.
- Social buying experience on Meta, LinkedIn, Twitter (bonus points: Reddit, TikTok, Snapchat).
- Understanding of social media metrics and how to optimize content based on analytics.
- Experience working under deadlines and managing multiple client projects/requests at once.
- Working knowledge of Washington D.C., national politics, and media.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities
- Strategic thinker and planner with a deep understanding of advertising platforms and acquisition channels.
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of strategists.
- Build relationships with clients and understand their goals.
- Develop paid advertising campaign strategies and advertising plans across channels, including programmatic display and video, paid search, and paid social.
- Manage placement, execution, and optimization of advertising campaigns.
- Work with the accounting team to track, invoice, and budget paid media spending appropriately.
- Provide an active voice in media strategies, optimization, and opportunities for improvement in media processes and execution.
- Understand the value and role of evolving digital platforms in Public Affairs and stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and targeting techniques to continually enhance digital media plans and campaign performance.
- Serve as a primary source of digital expertise within FTP.
- Aid in the new business proposal writing, planning, and pitching process.
