Director of Tax Policy
Organization for International Investment
The Organization for International Investment (OFII) is seeking a professional with five years of public policy experience to manage and support OFII’s federal tax policy work.
The position will have an emphasis on tax policy and play a significant role in OFII’s advocacy efforts, assisting with government affairs strategy development and implementation, working as part of a team to achieve results for OFII’s member companies.
A successful candidate should have a strong interest and background in policies impacting global businesses, including tax and trade policy, a demonstrated understanding of the legislative process, and excellent analytical and writing skills. This candidate should be a strategic thinker, capable of anticipating project needs and meeting deadlines with quality work in a fast-paced environment.
§ Lead OFII’s policy and advocacy work on U.S. Federal taxation issues
§ Draft and manage OFII’s written work product related to federal tax issues, including: comment letters, testimony, and memos
§ Track legislation through committee and floor action on tax policy priorities
§ Track regulatory activities within the U.S. Department of Treasury on a broad range of corporate tax issues
§ Manage government affairs related events, including membership meetings and lobby days
§ Work with and manage outside consultants
§ Help build coalitions in support of OFII’s federal tax priorities among third-party organizations
§ Assist in OFII’s state government affairs efforts when needed
§ The position reports to the Vice President, Public Policy & Government Affairs
§ Demonstrated tax policy knowledge and experience
§ Excellent writing and communication skills
§ Legislative and analytical skills
§ Excellent interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism
§ Bachelor’s degree
§ Experience working for a Member of Congress as a Legislative Assistant or higher position. Additional experience at a trade association or a government affairs firm is a plus.
§ Experience on tax issues while working for members on the House Ways and Means Committee and/or the Senate Finance Committee is a plus.
