The Corporate Philanthropy team coordinates the company’s partnerships with charitable organizations globally and collaborates with other departments across the company to drive business.

The Role

We are looking for a Corporate Philanthropy Programme Manager to support Bloomberg Corporate Philanthropy across the European Union. You will need a deep understanding of our business, our communities, and the diverse regions we work in, as well as significant experience working with European institutions, with an interest and experience in key EU social and environmental policies. An understanding of EU policies in the area of finance (e.g. sustainable finance, market transparency) is indispensable. A driven, self-starter, we will expect you to be a strategic thinker and an executor, with outstanding collaboration skills. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong time and project management skills, and a proven track record in strategic partnerships throughout the European region.

Corporate Philanthropy is core to the culture of Bloomberg and has both an internal and external focus. The role involves close collaboration with other Bloomberg business areas as well as coordination of the company’s strategy for engagement with charitable organizations across the EU. This Brussels-based role would report into the EU Head of Strategic Philanthropy Engagement and requires at least 8 to 10 years of work experience. Fluency in English and French is required, and proficiency in another European language would be a plus. Travel to Paris, London, and other EU capitals will be required.

In This Role, We Will Trust You To:

  • Provide a local point for coordination and delivery of Bloomberg Corporate Philanthropy activities across the EU in close partnership with other members of the Corporate Philanthropy, Bloomberg Philanthropies team, and core Bloomberg business units.
  • Manage relationships with Bloomberg’s non-partners in Brussels and Paris and leverage them for employee and client engagement opportunities.
  • Coordinate content delivery of Bloomberg-led EU events involving corporate philanthropy, such as conferences at Bloomberg offices or receptions at cultural venues, working closely with other departments (e.g. sales, government relations, etc.).
  • Manage and deliver EU corporate philanthropy programmes such as the Bloomberg Finance Pathways and the Sustainable Finance Workshop Series in partnership with education partners.
  • Work closely with the communications and marketing teams to promote Bloomberg’s EU philanthropy brand in Brussels and with EU policymakers and stakeholders.
  • Identify and coordinate new opportunities to increase client and government engagement in the EU and in priority EU countries, focusing on key EU institutions and stakeholders, working in close cooperation with Bloomberg’s EU Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs team.
  • Collaborate with Bloomberg’s government relations EU team to achieve synergies on EU stakeholder engagement and regulatory priorities such as EU sustainable finance policy and other cross-cutting priorities.
  • Build, maintain, and grow a corporate philanthropy contact database in Brussels and extend Bloomberg’s corporate philanthropy network in Brussels and within the EU.

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant professional experience in roles requiring interaction with governments, events, and/or policymakers.
  • Demonstrable experience in planning and executing high-level programs whilst executing events, stakeholder forums, philanthropic initiatives, etc.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the public sector and experience navigating complex governmental structures and processes.
  • Experience engaging directly with policymakers and understanding their priorities, constraints, and decision-making frameworks.
  • Strong background in stakeholder management across public and private sectors.
  • Capacity to build and maintain strategic relationships with key public and government partners.
