Position Summary
The Manager of Trade and International Affairs provides research and policy development support on trade and international issues related to solar products and energy storage manufacturing and supply chains. The Manager reports to the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain and Trade and provides support as directed to other Supply Chain and Trade team members.

Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor White House, federal agencies, international organizations, foreign governments, and other stakeholder publications and announcements related to trade actions, trade negotiations, regulatory developments on international issues, critical minerals, and cybersecurity.
- Draft weekly trade update.
- Research and draft memos, fact sheets, talking points, meeting notes, and other materials to support SEIA’s advocacy and communications work, including related to trade and international issues, solar products and energy storage manufacturing and supply chains, critical minerals, and cybersecurity.
- Prepare briefing books, background material, talking points, and other materials for the SVP in preparation for meetings, speaking engagements, and other events, and for member and public consumption.
- Help to grow relationships with foreign governments and trading partners, NGOs, U.S. and foreign trade associations, think tanks, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders involved in trade and international issues.
- Maintain a database of fact sheets, guidelines, Federal Register notices, and other materials related to trade, supply chain, and cybersecurity issues.
Requirements
Professional Experience, Education & Other Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3+ years of work experience, preferably in advocacy, policy, law, or another government-related field.
- Demonstrated interest in energy, international relations, regulatory and legislative initiatives, or international trade actions.
- Excellent oral communication, writing, and editing skills, including meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and independent work style.
- Strong time management skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-time zone team environment.
- A strong work ethic and customer-first attitude in order to thrive in our fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to learning new skills.
- Computer literacy skills including Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Working Conditions
This position is based in headquarters in Washington, DC.
SEIA employees in the Washington, D.C. region follow a hybrid remote and in-person office model. Employees work 3 days a week in an office environment and as needed when there are special events or meetings, but otherwise, they can be remote.
Compensation Range
$65,000-$70,000 annually, based on experience and an excellent benefits package.
