Job Description

Public Health Policy Analyst

BryceTech is currently looking for a Public Health Policy Analyst to join our team supporting a Federal Gov’t Customer in Washington, DC. This role will support the oversight of a team providing strategic planning support, policy formulation and analysis, and requirements development for the U.S. government’s response to public health emergencies such as the COVID pandemic or monkeypox, and preparation for future emergencies.

Analysis and formulation of policy related to:

  • National emergency response strategies, implementation plans, and Presidential Directives;
  • Hospital, primary, ambulatory, and long-term care day-to-day health system performance;
  • Medical countermeasure development, acquisition and utilization;
  • Reimbursement, health IT, measurement and quality, workforce issues, and emergency preparedness, response, and recovery;
  • Disaster preparedness and programs addressing substance abuse, mental health, resilience, and stress-related concerns during disaster responses;
  • Assist with interdepartmental clearance of high-level policy and technical documents including submission of documents for review, addressing comments and edits, and obtaining appropriate signatures.

Responsibilities:

  • Study a range of mission-critical issues to prepare congressional testimony and briefing materials and other writing projects (e.g., journal commentary, scientific publications).
  • Provide talking points and slides for presentations and speeches.
  • Prepare complete and accurate meeting summaries expeditiously; these may include meetings of subject matter experts and/or senior program managers.
  • Provide studies and analyses on emergency preparedness and response issues, including pandemic flu preparedness and response activities; CBRN threats; and research activities.
  • Assist with managing interagency tracking of policies and activities implemented by ASPR.
  • Deliverables established by the office should be maintained in the ASPR wide electronic filing system. Support presentation of progress both within the federal government and to external stakeholders.
  • Collect promising practices, Web links, informational and guidance resources, pertinent scientific articles and compile these into an accessible, user-friendly web-based compendium or site that is cross-linked with PHE.gov.
  • Assist in the implementation of strategies with collection of ongoing activities and processes used to systematically coordinate and align resources and actions with mission, vision and strategy throughout SPPR and ASPR.
  • Contribute to evaluations for efficiency and effectiveness of comprehensive plans in achieving the desired results and work with ASPR to assess the appropriateness of current strategies and the need for corrective action.

Requirements:

  • Strong writing and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Program Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in supporting technical programs.
  • Experience supporting strategic planning or emergency management programs highly preferred.
  • Be proactive and highly organized, with strong attention to detail and follow through with the ability to handle multiple, complex tasks, and establish priorities.
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-driven environment.
  • Capacity to work independently without significant guidance and be able to exercise good judgment, taking the initiative when necessary.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).

Additional Information

  • This is a hybrid role.
  • Pay: $145,000 – $155,000
