Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing regulatory policy and technical support to the overall Management and Administration of Market Policy & Strategy for LIPA as outlined under OSA. PSEG Long Island manages and advises LIPA on Wholesale Market policy at Federal, Regional Transmission Operator (RTO), and State levels, including Capacity Market Requirements and Compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and analysis of Market Policy and Strategy for LIPA in Regulatory Areas.
  • Provide technical and regulatory support to participants on market committees, working groups, and LIPA.
  • Review and assess regulatory proposals in areas such as Offshore Wind, Energy Storage, Greenhouse Gas Cap and Trade Programs, Capacity & Energy Markets, and Retail Access.
  • Provide support related to the development of major transmission projects.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure consistency in policy matters.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • B.S. in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in wholesale energy markets or consulting in a utility regulatory environment.
  • Familiarity with FERC, NYISO, PJM, and ISO-NE Market Policy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel for meetings and respond to emergency conditions.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, MBA, or Law Degree.
  • Experience in transmission planning and/or transmission project management.

Experience & Education:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience.
  • Bachelors in Engineering.
