Position: Scientific Communications & Engagement Lead

The Scientific Communications & Engagement Lead blends marketing, business development, and media production. Instead of traditional sales tactics, you will lead our outreach through an interview-based podcast and content series, spotlighting the work of leading researchers and scientific thinkers. Your goal isn’t to pitch—it’s to listen, learn, and showcase compelling science that aligns with our mission.

This role creates new business opportunities, amplifies our visibility in the industry, and deepens our understanding of the scientific landscape. You’ll report to the VP of Marketing and work closely with sales, product, scientific, and customer teams.

Responsibilities:

• Host and produce a weekly interview series with scientists, researchers, and thought leaders.

• Identify KOLs and key scientific groups; engage with them around their current approaches to solving research challenges.

• Build relationships with current and prospective customers through meaningful content collaboration.

• Collaborate with internal teams to identify high-impact guests and emerging scientific trends.

• Act as a brand ambassador for Araceli within online communities.

• Support lead generation and customer engagement by providing insights from interviews.

• Track and report content performance metrics and audience engagement.

• Stay informed on key developments in the biotech and drug discovery markets.

• Engage with internal Araceli scientific, marketing, and engineering teams to foster an exchange of ideas with external organizations.

Desired Skills and Experience:

SCIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a communications-related field.

• Background in biotech, pharma, or life sciences is highly preferred.

• Awareness/understanding of drug discovery and therapeutic development markets.

• 3+ years of experience in scientific marketing, content production, or business development.

• Experience or familiarity with microscopy and/or biological screening is a plus, but not required.

COMMUNICATIONS

• Confident interviewer and communicator with a deep curiosity about scientific research.

• Experience creating podcasts, video, or written content for professional audiences.

• Strong organizational and project management skills.

• Ability to distill complex scientific topics into engaging stories.

• Coordinate with Araceli business development managers to ensure smooth hand-offs, track follow-up, and measure success of outreach-to-opportunity conversion.

• Creative thinker who is comfortable with experimentation and new formats.

Job Location:

This position can be based out of different locations: Araceli headquarters in Portland, Oregon, or one of the US biotech and pharma hubs in Boston, San Diego, San Francisco, or New York areas. Regular travel up to 30% will be required in this role.
