Senior Communications Manager
The Senior Communications Manager will play an important role in supporting Charter’s inclusive organization, which provides equal opportunities for all employees, enabling them to make better decisions, produce innovative products and services, and improve the communities we serve.
The Senior Manager will develop messaging, communications products, and platforms to help achieve this objective.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain messaging for external use as necessary in response to external inquiries, Charter’s external website, leader presentations, and inclusion in required documents.
- Create communications and presentations on inclusion and community-related topics, including executive presentations, requests from our businesses, and customized executive message sheets as required.
- Develop and produce executive-level presentations on department programs, progress, and future efforts. Collect and develop storylines from information across the organization.
- Draft communications for our leaders, supporting inclusion and community-related programs as required. Conduct research on a range of topics that we may draw upon and include in communications.
- Guide leader messaging, Council communications, video briefs, and review material as needed by business units. Respond to content requests from varied functions.
- Review quotes, speeches, presentations, and outlines for use at external forums. This includes speaker identification, approval, and presentation and speech content.
- Produce a quarterly brief that provides updates on inclusion and community programs and stories for internal distribution.
- Set up team roadshows, webinars, and provide communications plans for other team-driven events. Produce takeaway sheets from events. Collect feedback and maintain analytics/research.
- Drive inclusion and community social media strategy, taking a holistic approach in this area. Develop and/or review inclusion and community social media quotes for Recruitment Marketing, Get Spectrum, and Corporate team. Make connections between inclusion, community, and related posts where appropriate.
- Monitor internal and external news and content to ensure message alignment. Share findings with the team.
- Update collateral materials as needed, including message points, leadership FAQs, and resources.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Required Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated PowerPoint, design, and Excel skills
- Proficiency in other design programs is an advantage
- Skilled in research, analysis, and interpretation of data and articulation of key findings
- Demonstrated ability to drive engagement and connection across social media platforms and other communication channels
- Ability to implement differentiated communication strategies for various audiences
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to work well under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Professional, poised demeanor
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support inclusion and community communications programs, campaigns, and initiatives
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
Preferred Work Experience
- 10+ years
