Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or related field preferred. Strong preference for non-profit experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience managing a team.
  • Must be able to demonstrate success leading large-scale internal communication campaigns and initiatives centered around improving employee engagement.
  • Experience successfully creating and executing external communications plans with measurable results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excelled writing capabilities.
  • Experience with content creation, delivery, and measurement across various channels, including email, newsletters, social media, intranets, leadership presentations, and manager communication vehicles.
  • Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the principles and practice of effective organizational communication.
  • Ability to organize projects, prioritize workflow, and complete multiple tasks accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy for all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to executives and senior leaders to facilitate messaging alignment, including crisis communications, and ensure that all communication is aligned with business objectives and supports the organization’s culture and values.
  • Develop and maintain a master editorial calendar to ensure communications are timely and relevant.
  • Collaborate with HR to identify opportunities to promote employee engagement and recognition.
  • Collaborate with IT on our various digital channels, including the intranet.
  • Drive adoption of self-serve communication tools among people managers, department leads, and senior leaders.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communications using feedback and data analysis and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Play a key role in developing brand awareness in conjunction with affiliates.
  • Advocate for employees at all levels of the organization to ensure their voices are heard.
  • Develop a narrative that reflects our mission and values and protects our brand reputation across all channels, including intranet, newsletters, traditional media outlets, executive leadership speaking engagements, and social media.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of our communications and brand reputation and identify opportunities to enhance our story based on feedback and data analysis.
