### Job Opportunity
We are seeking a proven leader in B2G marketing to take the helm of our Marketing and Public Relations (PR) team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in branding, thought leadership, and public relations, including online presence, with a track record of effective communication and problem-solving. You will be at the forefront, engaging with senior executives, thought leaders, creative teams, and clients within agencies such as the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services, Education, Agriculture, Labor, and more, ensuring the strategic and successful execution of marketing and PR initiatives. We value strategic thinkers ready to roll up their sleeves and bring our plans to fruition.
A hybrid work arrangement (3 days on-site) is preferred. Westat’s headquarters is currently in Rockville, Maryland but will be relocating to Bethesda, Maryland in the fall of 2025.
### Job Responsibilities
– Develop and execute marketing and branding strategies to grow our reputation and strengthen our position as a trusted research partner by working closely with executives, subject matter experts, content providers, and creatives.
– Oversee content and event marketing projects from conception to completion.
– Convert intricate research into engaging marketing communications.
– Supervise, mentor, and grow the capabilities of the marketing and PR team.
– Research and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and key performance metrics to inform strategy and produce actionable goals.
– Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets relevant to our audiences.
– Develop and distribute messages and oversee PR activities to strengthen our market presence.
– Leverage generative AI tools to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
### Basic Qualifications
– Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field and 12+ years experience including B2G and public relations experience.
– Proven leadership record in a senior marketing role and in developing successful branding campaigns.
– Experience working with relevant federal agencies.
– Demonstrated project and people management skills.
– Experience with government relations, procurement processes, and proposal responses.
– Demonstrated experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership, key stakeholders, and others.
### Preferred Qualifications
– MBA preferred.
– Familiarity with research publication processes and academic marketing.
– Proficiency in marketing automation and CRM software.
