The Communications Team

The Comms Team conveys Snap’s mission, vision, and values to key audiences, including Snapchatters, advertising partners, content partners, investors, policymakers, and Snap team members. This passionate group works to showcase Snapchat as the best platform for communication and storytelling while ensuring accurate, compelling narratives about the company, its people, and its products.


Position: Senior Manager, Policy Communications

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute communications strategies to shape and protect Snap’s reputation among key stakeholders such as policymakers, parents, and trust and safety experts.
  • Collaborate with Snap’s policy, legal, platform safety, and other teams to drive long-term objectives using campaign-style communication strategies, earned media, stakeholder events, and crisis communications.
  • Maintain relationships with key reporters at national and local outlets. Create compelling narratives and external moments that highlight Snap’s mission.
  • Handle tasks such as writing press materials and FAQs, fielding media inquiries, and training spokespeople for media interviews and engagements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of the media, policy, and cultural landscape with experience working with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with in-house tech policy issues.
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to experiment for creative solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage multiple projects independently.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills across different time zones.
  • Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and tactical execution skills.
  • Outstanding judgment and exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Experience as an on-the-record spokesperson.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 10+ years in communications or public relations.

Compensation

Pay Zones in the United States:

  • Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): $202,000 – $303,000 annually.
  • Zone B: $192,000 – $288,000 annually.
  • Zone C: $172,000 – $257,000 annually.

The successful candidate’s starting pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. This position is also eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
