Our Global Government Affairs team is a diverse group of dedicated professionals leading the company’s engagement with government officials, legislators, regulators and other political stakeholders, shaping the company’s positions on public policy, and building its reputation amongst policymakers.

SalesForce Senior Manager – Public Policy, Washington DC

Your Impact

  • Monitor and analyze relevant policy and regulatory developments in the U.S. (Federal and State & Local level) and other key jurisdictions, including on artificial intelligence, privacy, security, public procurement, cloud adoption in regulated industries and government, trade, antitrust, and intellectual property.
  • Work with Salesforce’s legal teams, business leaders, product experts, marketing and PR teams, to develop public policy positions in support of Salesforce’s core values of trust, customer success, innovation, equality, and sustainability.
  • Support the advocacy work of the Salesforce Government Affairs team.
  • Advise internal teams on the impact of public policy and regulatory developments on Salesforce products and business priorities.
  • Represent Salesforce in relevant public policy fora and meetings with government officials in the U.S. and globally.
  • Build and maintain a proven network of public policy influencers in the public and private sectors.
  • Prepare briefing materials for different audiences (internal and external) on relevant public policy developments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in law, politics, public office, government affairs, etc.
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience in government, industry, consulting, think-tanks or similar, focused on policy or political work (preferably technology-related).
  • Ability to write and speak fluently in English. Additional language skills will be considered a plus.
  • Experience with developing public policy positions and support advocacy campaigns.
  • Ability to effectively communicate public policy priorities internally and externally, and tailor the message to fit different audiences.
  • Embracing Salesforce’s values of trust, customer success, innovation, equality, and sustainability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly motivated self-starter. Service-minded, reliable, thorough. Results-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and work independently, while collaborating 100% with the team. Critical thinking. High sense of integrity.
  • Familiarity with technology regulation and the policy landscape in the U.S. and/or other jurisdictions. In particular, knowledge of policies and processes around cloud adoption in the public sector, and other regulated sectors like financial services, health and life sciences, and telecommunications, will be considered a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with colleagues across different departments and geographies/time zones.
  • Ability to conceptualize innovative approaches to public policy and advocacy.
  • Positive, flexible demeanor and a sense of humor.
