What You’ll Do

As the Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs, you will:

  • Identify, review, monitor, and analyze emerging, proposed, and enacted federal, and occasionally state, policies and regulations that affect the pharmacy profession.
  • Prepare accurate and original legal and regulatory policy analyses, positions, and recommendations for communications to regulatory agencies, administration officials, and APhA members.
  • Manage relevant member workgroups, communities, special interest groups, and other committees, as assigned, in relevant areas. Establish and nurture relationships with members who can provide information to support the ongoing regulatory efforts of APhA and its members.
  • Collaborate with other APhA departments to support communications, publications, and education supporting APhA’s regulatory advocacy positions and efforts.
  • Prepare issue briefs, advocacy materials, and reports. Present APhA’s positions to public audiences, including public officials, federal and state policymakers, and other healthcare professions.

Who We’re Looking For

APhA may be the right fit for you if you have:

Education and Experience

  • A law degree (Juris Doctor) is required. Admission to the practice of law in the District of Columbia (DC Bar) under the jurisdiction of the D.C. Court of Appeals is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide legal and regulatory analysis and policy recommendations.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience or 1+ year of a Residency/Fellowship and 2+ years of relevant experience is required.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of and experience in pharmacy practice preferred.
  • Ability to manage and complete specialized or moderately complex assignments and work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to research information, plan and prioritize work, and identify and recommend solutions to challenges impacting outcomes.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines for written communications.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent research and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to speak effectively in public forums.

Location

Washington, DC – Hybrid, two days a week in the office (Tuesday & Thursday).
