Description
Advances patient health by developing and implementing internal and external communications programs, including public relations and internal/employee communications, that support the short- and long-term business objectives of BIPI/BIUSA. This includes activities associated with prescription medicines across the entire product life cycle, such as traditional and digital PR, social media activities, and employee communications.
Advises business leaders on brand/TA communication strategies and oversees tactical implementation. Independently manages issues preparedness and response processes for assigned therapeutic area(s) or products. Serves as the company spokesperson for traditional, digital, and social media.

This position offers a base salary typically between $140,000 and $180,000. The position may also be eligible for a role-specific variable or performance-based bonus, relocation benefits, and other compensation elements.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee internal and external communication strategies for assigned therapeutic area(s) or products to achieve defined objectives.
- Manage media relations to effectively drive results.
- Independently manage issues preparedness and response processes, applying the US process with issues teams and partnering with US and global leadership to address concerns.
- Stay informed of marketplace trends and external factors impacting products, diseases, and/or the pharmaceutical industry.
- Conduct and oversee media relations to achieve or contribute to overall PR plans and objectives.
- Build collaborative relationships with global PR colleagues, as well as internal teams in marketing, medical, legal, regulatory, corporate communications, patient advocacy, stakeholder relations, government affairs, and others.
- Ensure global PR initiatives align with US perspectives and business needs.
- Select and lead consultants/agencies in day-to-day activities to maximize performance, results, and ROI.
- Oversee and manage PR/communications budgets and resources for assigned therapeutic areas, tracking progress and reporting results.
- Identify and plan for potential issues to minimize business disruptions and protect company reputation.
- Conduct all activities in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in PR/Communications, Journalism, or Marketing (preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in PR/communications or related fields within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare communications.
- Proven ability to develop and implement PR strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Strong project, event, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence outcomes.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage crisis situations effectively.
- Strategic thinker with a proven problem-solving background.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
