We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr. DEI Specialist on our Human Resources team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.
This position supports the HR DEI Director to design and execute the workforce equity plan and embed DEI within the AMA’s Business Units (BU). Collaborate with internal stakeholders in defining and implementing short-term and long-term workforce equity and inclusion objectives.
Responsibilities
Workforce Equity Consultation
- Under the direction of the HR DEI Director, help create a workplan to support BU stakeholders at the AMA
- Responsible for the execution of the workforce equity plan
- Identify and implement activities that will assist in creating an environment of inclusion, respect and trust
- Support equitable and inclusive practices at the local BU and enterprise level to positively influence identified outcomes
- Collect and analyze data to assess impact and support equitable and inclusive practices
- Evaluate BU equity progress; collaborate with internal stakeholders to monitor progress on enterprise and BU workforce equity initiatives
- Provide DEI subject-matter expertise and consultation to various stakeholders, including senior leadership regarding execution of workforce equity objectives
- Recommend various approaches to achieve the workforce equity goals
- Leverage project management methodologies to ensure timely and successful execution of goals
Communication
- Foster and maintain effective working relationships with AMA stakeholders
- Effectively communicate plans, progress and identified opportunities for equity efforts to BU stakeholders
- Guide stakeholders in interpretation and application of equity goals, within AMA parameters and in alignment with best practices
- May include other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience in project management
- Minimum 5 years of experience in workforce equity/corporate DEI required
- Proven experience in project management required
- Experience with building DEI and corporate goals and plans
- Strong communication and presentation skills—with diverse audiences, including senior leadership
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable in latest research, trends, and best practices in promoting workplace diversity and inclusion
- Ability to productively collaborate with various stakeholders with diverse priorities
- Demonstrate independent judgment—knowing when to use discretion and diplomacy when identifying and implementing activities that will assist in creating an environment of inclusion, respect and trust

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $81,600 – $108,120. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
