The role is responsible for representing Mindr and its family of brands’ positions before state and local government, trade/industry associations, national political organizations, and other audiences to advance Mindr’s goals of advocating for policies and fostering political relationships that will enable business success. The position requires collaboration with government affairs team members, as well as the company’s regulatory, legal, and compliance teams, in addition to business and operations executives, to help develop and advocate for the company’s positions on public policy matters. This position also requires close, cross-functional work to coordinate state and federal messaging, lobbying, and outreach.

### What You’ll Be Doing

– Representing the company, interacting with, and lobbying state and local governments in the assigned region.
– Monitoring hearings; building relationships with key individuals in state legislatures, administrations, and governors; and overseeing the implementation of policies that could influence the growth and competitiveness of Mindr.
– Participating in and representing the company’s positions in various trade, industry associations, and coalitions.
– Drafting testimony, responses, comments, and other research, when necessary, in advancing the state government affairs agenda.
– Preparing briefing materials and drafting grassroots messaging.
– Tracking, monitoring, and reporting on legislative activity in assigned states and identifying issues of relevance to Mindr’s government affairs agenda.
– Proactively identifying and communicating legislative issues and trends that impact the company, including preparing memoranda and briefing materials.
– Building coalitions by proactively identifying and communicating legislative issues to similarly situated external parties.
– Coordinating activity effectively to ensure that issues are communicated quickly and accurately to appropriate internal personnel.
– Working cooperatively with internal, cross-functional stakeholders to develop policy positions, strategies, and an agenda at the state and local levels.
– Participating in national organizations of legislators, governors, attorneys general, and others to develop and strengthen Mindr’s relationships and advance Mindr’s legislative agenda.
– Managing communication with contract lobbyists and handling related administrative matters in assigned states.
– Performing all other duties as assigned.

### What You’ll Bring to the Table

– Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
– Five (5) years of combined experience working as a legislative aide at the state level, a state employee in a government department or agency, contract lobbyist, corporate lobbyist, and/or association lobbyist in a private, public, government, or military environment.
– Experience with developing public affairs and issue management advocacy communications preferred.
– Experience handling variable legislative issues while meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently.
– Preferred experience in transportation or traffic safety policy.
– Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
