**The Impact You’ll Make in this Role**

As a Senior Hardgoods Regulatory Engineer/Product Steward, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

– Leading the regulatory compliance, Life Cycle Management, and sustainability requirements for existing and new products. Technical activities include interpreting regulations, performing assessments of safety to human health and the environment, addressing liability avoidance, and supporting sustainable business decisions.
– Collaborating with product development teams within the division, as well as corporate Subject Matter Experts, to identify potential hazards associated with the use of 3M products that incorporate electrical, electronic, mechanical, or other energy functions and are typically durable. However, this position will also have responsibility for a family of non-hardgood articles, including some chemicals.
– Being an active and engaged member of NPI and CMP projects related to the product lines supported.
– Assisting 3M global customers with their product Environmental, Health, Safety, and Regulatory (EHS&R) inquiries, including regulated lists, safety declarations, local, state, federal, and global regulations.
– Developing and maintaining documentation relevant to the assessment of risk to human health and the environment.
– Supporting the global technical and business teams in a large variety of regulated markets, including electrical and industrial.

**Your Skills and Expertise**

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
– Three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Product Stewardship, Regulatory Affairs, Risk Assessment, Life Cycle Assessment, Electronics Product Compliance, or Product Development of hardgoods or electrical products, in a private, public, government, or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

– Advanced degree in an applicable Science or Engineering discipline, especially electrical or mechanical engineering.
– Familiarity with global regulations, including RoHS and REACH, and hardgoods safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) regulations.
– Experience with the Enovia Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, including the Materials Compliance Management (MCM) and Life Cycle Management System (LCMS) modules.
– Proficiency in 3M’s Chemical Data Management System (CDMS).
– Direct experience working with dispersed/Global Teams and customers.
– Excellent written and verbal skills in English.

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic.

Location: St. Paul, MN, Austin, TX, or remote proximal to a major airport.

The expected compensation range for this position is $119,076 – $145,537, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
