The Black Rock Group (BRG) is hiring a Vice President to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is organized, outgoing, and creative with strong writing skills and experience in public relations, marketing, media, government, or political campaigns. This is a mid-level position with opportunities for advancement.
BRG is a strategic communications and public affairs firm with extensive experience creating effective public affairs, political, and strategic communications campaigns. Our clients are part of the biggest debates in Washington and the nation, working on a variety of issues, including technology, energy, education, and transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management & Client Service: Work collaboratively to help design and execute strategic communications and marketing plans for clients.
- Public Affairs Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive advocacy plans, including media outreach, coalition building, grassroots advocacy, and digital campaigns. Draft and edit press releases, op-eds, memos, digital media content, and other written materials.
- Media Relations: Work with industry-specific and regional reporters.
- Research: Monitor, research, and analyze legislative and regulatory developments that impact clients, providing timely insights and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 4-6 years in public relations, media, trade association, government, or campaign-related experience.
- Strong writing, editing, and public speaking skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple accounts at once, work efficiently, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of and interest in current events and policy issues.
- Experience in graphic design, website development, or social media is a plus, but not required.
