The Role:

BCW is seeking to hire a Vice President of Corporate Affairs to be based in Washington DC. The Account Director will be dedicated to reputational campaigns across a wide spectrum of issues including climate/sustainability, safety, tourism and finance for a client looking to raise their profile in the US. Target audiences will include consumer, government officials (foreign and domestic) and business stakeholders. This is a heavily client-facing role that requires significant experience leading teams and developing strong and broad client relationships. Destination client travel will be required within the Eastern Time zone.

This is an opportunity to become immersed in a multifaceted campaign playing a leading role in account growth, management and the execution of consumer and B2B corporate affairs communications.

The Work:

  • Act as day-to-day client lead (both advisory and management) actively working to build strong relationships within the account.
  • Develop and execute campaign strategies around partnerships, stakeholder and influencer engagement to build awareness and public education
  • Stay ahead of regulatory policies affecting issues around climate, sustainability, tourism and finance in order to identify challenges/opportunities for the client
  • Collaborate across multiple integrated workstreams, teams and geographies
  • Support commitment to an inclusive and diverse environment, demonstrating strong mentoring and leadership skills

Experience that contributes to your success:

  • Experience working in an agency, management consulting or government policy environment is highly desired
  • Success in growing business organically and identifying new opportunities for the agency
  • Demonstrated campaign work on integrated reputation, public education and awareness campaigns
  • Track record of successful stakeholder engagement, thought leadership and message development to consumer, government and business audiences
  • Track record of managing cross-functional teams and growing junior practitioners
  • 10-12 years of experience in the public affairs and communications arena
