Outstanding Campaigns Honored at the National PAC Conference
Fort Lauderdale, Florida (March 7, 2024) – The Public Affairs Council honored the winners of the 2024 Outstanding PAC Awards yesterday during its annual National PAC Conference, held this year in Fort Lauderdale.
The winner in the Corporate PAC category is Walmart’s WALPAC for increasing its receipts 64% over a three-month period. This effort addressed the challenge of reaching eligibles spread across the country and in affiliate stores. WALPAC held a fly-in hosting 50 WALPAC champions in D.C. to meet with elected officials and Walmart’s lobbyists to see how their contributions affected store-level profits. The goal was to motivate champions and encourage peer-to-peer outreach. Following the fly-in, WALPAC rolled out a PAC match program incentivizing donors with an equal donation to its charitable fund, Associates in Critical Need Trust. By August 1, WALPAC had 1,300 new PAC donors and a 64% increase in receipts.
The winner in the Association PAC category is American Land Title Association’s (ALTA) TIPAC for a fundraising event held at its 2023 annual convention where attendees sponsored PAC trustees to ride a mechanical bull. Trustees asked for $20-$50 sponsorships, which resulted in $43,000 in donations to the PAC. An additional $25,000 was raised in ticket sales for the event, more than doubling their 2022 convention fundraising efforts.
“This year’s Outstanding PAC winners demonstrated both an ability to meet the challenges of changing circumstances and reminded us of the importance of having fun as we engage our workforces in political activities.” says Council President Doug Pinkham. “Their remarkable accomplishments raise the bar for the profession.”
The Outstanding PAC Awards are presented at the National PAC Conference. One corporate and one association PAC are awarded annually.
