Ripple Effect is looking for a Human and Animal Subjects Research Analyst (HSR/ASR) with 7 years of experience to support our client’s mission by advising on areas of human and animal subjects’ research activities for ARPA-H’s biomedical research portfolio. Working with ARPA-H, you will combine your scientific knowledge and experiences to help advance scientific ethical research practices.

Salary Range: $70,000 to $130,000
Responsibilities
- Act as consultant on analytical, consulting, or assessment processes in support of technical, business, and administrative issues related to HSR/ASR activities at ARPA-H.
- Develop policies, procedures, guidelines, and other materials to ensure compliance with regulations pertaining to human and animal subjects regulations.
- Support the development and implementation of effective mechanisms to communicate and interpret these regulations, policies, and guidelines.
- Provide initial review on a portfolio of protocols, including determinations of not research, research not involving human subjects, exempt research, and non-exempt research.
- Work with investigators to make updates/revisions to bring protocols in compliance as needed.
- Advise client on optimal approaches to implementation of human subjects and privacy related policies and regulations.
- Develop resources and conduct trainings to build HSR/ASR knowledge and capacity internally at ARPA-H and with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience
- Masters Degree in a related field (or bachelor’s degree and additional 2 years of experience)
- 7 years of experience
- Including at least 2 years of IRB or IACUC or related regulatory experience
Basic Requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of the management and conduct of human and/or animal subjects’ research (including clinical trials), including knowledge of IRBs/IACUCs, privacy protection regulations and certificates of confidentiality.
- Ability to keep detailed and accurate computer records and maintain/update data in computer-based applications/databases
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with researchers, research staff, and IRB/IACUC members on matters of research compliance and ethical human research practices.
- Ability to work productively in Microsoft Office tools (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations

Skills That Set You Apart
- Relevant certifications, e.g., CIP, SOCRA, etc.
- CITI training in accordance with local IRB policy
- Experience with ARPA programs or NIH, particularly extramural research programs
- Experience as a government contractor, supporting biomedical or health research programs
