### Position Summary
The Manager of Donor Communications will be responsible for developing and executing strategic donor communications plans, including researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to corporate and foundation donors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grant writing, impact reporting, storytelling, content creation, relationship building with key stakeholders and donors, and the ability to convey complex ideas in compelling ways. This position will ensure our communication strategies and grant capabilities align with our goals for donor engagement and retention.

### Position Functions and Responsibilities Include

#### Strategic Communication Planning
– Develop and implement comprehensive donor communication strategies to enhance engagement and retention.
– Collaborate with the development team to align communication efforts with fundraising goals.

#### Grant Research and Identification
– Conduct thorough research to identify potential corporate and foundation grant opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and programs.
– Maintain a comprehensive database of grant prospects and submission deadlines.

#### Proposal Writing
– Develop compelling and tailored grant proposals and applications, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.
– Ensure that all proposals meet the specific guidelines and requirements of each grantor.

#### Relationship Management
– Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate and foundation donors.
– Serve as the primary point of contact for grant-related communications, including responding to inquiries and providing updates on project progress.

#### Grant Reporting and Compliance
– Monitor and ensure compliance with grant requirements and deadlines.
– Prepare and submit progress, financial, and final reports to grantors as required.

#### Collaboration and Strategy
– Work closely with program staff to gather necessary information and data to support grant applications.
– Collaborate with the development team to create and implement a strategic plan for securing corporate and foundation funding.
– Work closely with program managers, field staff, and the fundraising team to gather relevant information and success stories.

#### Donor Impact Reporting
– Craft persuasive and inspiring content for a variety of platforms including newsletters, impact reports, social media, emails, and the organization’s website.

### Core Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
– Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio demonstrating diverse content creation.
– Strong research and analytical skills to identify and prioritize funding opportunities.
– Proven success in securing grants from corporate and foundation sources.
– Proficient in using grant management and CRM software.
– Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
– Strong analytical skills with experience in using data to drive communication strategies.
– Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
– Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
– Proficient with digital communication tools and platforms, including email marketing software, social media, and content management systems.

### Requirements
– Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing and fundraising for non-profit organizations.
– Demonstrated experience in donor communications, fundraising, or a related field within the non-profit sector.
– Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives.
– A commitment to promoting equity in all aspects of the workplace.
