#### Position Overview
Leverage with Media PR is a boutique PR agency specializing in supporting celebrity, CEO, and entrepreneurial non-fiction authors in their quest for media exposure and to assist with their book launches.

Currently, we are seeking to hire a skilled SENIOR Broadcast Media Publicist to join our team. This position will be a W-2 employee and will start as soon as possible. Ideal candidates for this position should have a strong background in communications or public relations, coupled with a genuine passion for the Broadcast TV and Author industries.

Candidates must have impeccable writing skills, be a team player, great interpersonal communication, and a drive to succeed. You will assist account teams in the daily servicing of clients with ongoing publicity duties — writing, editing, research, administrative tasks, and pitching. Contacts within the NYC media world are an essential part of growth in this role, so out-of-office networking is required.

This position will be the perfect fit for an experienced, detail-oriented, and research-savvy self-starter with a knack for identifying what will appeal to media makers.

**Pay**: $85,000/year + $750 per month healthcare stipend and 3 weeks paid vacation.
**Location**: Remote – NYC location preferred

#### Role and Responsibilities
Our Broadcast Media Publicist will primarily be responsible for:

– **Client Support**: Supporting a client load of 5-7 clients, which roughly translates to sourcing new shows to pitch, sending out carefully crafted pitches every week for each client, following up with previous pitches, and providing strategic weekly and monthly insights.
– **Industry Knowledge**: Developing a deep understanding of your clients and their book.
– **PR Relationship Building**: Creating and maintaining relationships with media makers and their teams.
– **Collaborating With The Team**: Working closely with our 5 other team members to identify pitch angles that will appeal to media professionals in a variety of niches.
– **Pitching**: Handling the creation of all pitches and follow-ups.
– **Brand Strategy**: Brainstorming creative brand synergies for clients.
– **KPI Analytics and Reporting**: Drafting monthly reports and handling client correspondence.

#### Skills & Abilities
You are a strong fit for this position if the statements below are true for you:

– You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
– You have at least 10 years of experience working in public relations.
– Have a strong knowledge of the Broadcast media landscape and have contacts already in the field of National and Regional Broadcast.
– You’re able to handle multiple accounts simultaneously.
– You have excellent writing and editing skills.
– You’re naturally highly attentive to detail. Typos keep you up at night, off-kilter formatting makes you shudder, and you never hit send without proofreading what you’ve written for clarity.
– You’re a self-starter with a creative and energetic personality.
– You have a working knowledge of social media platforms.
– You fully understand Microsoft Office and its programs.
– You pride yourself on having excellent communication skills. You’re not afraid to respectfully speak up when you disagree, and you routinely request feedback.
– You stick to deadlines. You deliver your work on time and your project management skills have consistently impressed past colleagues and bosses.
– You’re culturally informed. You’re always up to date on the latest trends, have a pulse on niche news within the wellness and lifestyle spaces, and know exactly when Instagram is rolling out new features.
– You have experience planning events, whether for clients or for something else entirely. You have the creative vision to come up with unique, marketable events, see the coordination of those events through, and develop strategic follow-ups with the media afterward.
– You’re able to communicate professionally, warmly, and effectively with clients and media professionals alike.
