### Manager of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs

The Manager of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs will track and analyze active legislation and regulations impacting the solar industry in our operational states and potential new markets. This role involves engagement with utilities, legislative bodies, and para-government organizations to understand and influence policies affecting the renewable energy sector. It also involves staying abreast of new developments in regulations and incentives impacting solar or solar-adjacent technologies.

**Responsibilities:**

– Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments related to the solar/storage/renewable energy industry in Colorado, Nebraska, Illinois, New York, and other states within our service area, as well as at the federal level.
– Develop strategies to influence policy and regulatory decisions that benefit the renewable energy sector.
– Engage with lawmakers, regulatory agencies, utilities, and other stakeholders to advocate for favorable solar policies.
– Prepare and present reports on legislative trends and regulatory changes, advising on potential impacts to the business.
– Track and report on engagement with lawmakers, trade associations, and key stakeholders in policy decision making.
– Represent the company at hearings, meetings, and industry events related to solar policy and regulation.
– Help draft whitepapers, articles, and other pieces that support the business becoming a “thought leader” when it comes to renewable energy policy and legislation.
– Monitor the reach and impact of reports, whitepapers, and articles produced by measuring their influence through engagement on professional networks.
– Keep abreast of evolutions in renewable energy incentives, technologies, and significant policy developments across the country.

**Pay Range:** $100,000k – $110,000k

### Education and Experience

– Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Environmental Policy, Renewable Energy, Law, or related field. Master’s degree or law degree preferred.
– 2 years of experience in a legislative, regulatory, or policy role preferred, with specific experience in the energy sector or renewable energy.
– Demonstrated understanding of the solar industry and its regulatory environment.

### Competencies – Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

– Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legislation and regulations.
– Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively influence policy decisions.
– Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders across various sectors.
– Knowledge of the legislative process and regulatory frameworks impacting the renewable energy industry.
– Must be willing to travel.
