Job Summary
This internal-facing position enhances regulatory and legislative advocacy by:
- Developing persuasion strategies with SGA and federal advocacy leads, creating compelling arguments to influence key decision-makers, based on internal and external research, business plans, regulatory filings, and financial or investor information.
- Supporting advocacy efforts by producing various deliverables for external stakeholders, such as slide decks, graphics, white papers, and position summaries that simplify complex material.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with advocacy leads to formulate substantive arguments to build stakeholder support for PSEG’s policy agenda, legislative outcomes, or investments.
- Create deliverables for external audiences in collaboration with government affairs colleagues.
- Gather supporting information, manage external consultants, and engage with PSEG subject matter experts on topics such as tax, finance, and business operations.
Job Specific Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in government relations, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, or issue management
- Quick understanding of policy and political issues affecting PSEG
- Strong communication skills, translating complex topics for diverse audiences
- Political acumen, understanding public policy persuasion
- Attention to detail, ability to create compelling visuals using PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex information in writing and presentations
Desired Qualifications:
- Proven ability to translate data and concepts visually through PowerPoint, Excel, and other tools
- Familiarity with modeling concepts, SWOT analysis, and Stakeholder Mapping
