About the Tech Coalition

Since 2006, the Tech Coalition has united leading global tech firms in the fight to protect children from online sexual exploitation and abuse. Relaunched in 2020, the Tech Coalition is a growing alliance of over 45 tech companies, including industry leaders such as Google, Meta, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and Sony, working together to accelerate technological innovations, promote transparency, and drive collective action to create safer online spaces for children. Our mission is to foster collaboration among tech companies and with key stakeholders to address this critical global issue.

Core Values

Our values are at the foundation of everything we do. At the Tech Coalition, we are:

  • Committed to one another and our mission, holding ourselves accountable for impactful results.
  • Capable of informed, purposeful leadership, executing with excellence.
  • Creative in solving challenges through agility, innovation, and fresh perspectives.
  • Kind humans who work together generously, supportively, and thoughtfully.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Public Affairs and Events Manager to lead our multi-stakeholder engagement and event planning efforts. Reporting to the Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications, you will play a critical role in bringing together diverse voices—including governments, law enforcement, regulators, civil society, and industry leaders—globally to foster collective action and innovative solutions for online child safety. This is a unique opportunity to drive engagement with key stakeholders and shape the impact of the Tech Coalition’s initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Management: Plan, scope, and execute impactful events that bring together industry members and external stakeholders to address key issues related to online child sexual exploitation and abuse. Ensure events are well-structured, outcome-focused, and inclusive of essential participants.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and coordinate the Tech Coalition’s relationships with multi-stakeholder audiences—including government agencies, regulatory bodies, law enforcement, and civil society organizations—to strengthen collaboration and shared understanding of challenges and solutions.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Tech Coalition members to define event objectives, set agendas, and achieve actionable outcomes that can drive real change.
  • Content Development: Help set context and align key messages for public engagements, outputs, and events, working closely with internal teams to create relevant materials, blog posts, white papers, briefings, speeches, and presentations.
  • Annual Report Development: Lead the development and dissemination of the Tech Coalition’s annual report, demonstrating our impact and member company progress in tackling online child sexual exploitation and abuse (OCSEA). Work collaboratively with internal teams to highlight the value of the Coalition’s programs and showcase impactful initiatives and industry collaborations.
  • Project Management: Coordinate and manage multiple, complex events and projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations are met.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Gather feedback and analyze the impact of events, providing insights to inform future engagement strategies.
  • Media Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key press contacts who cover child protection, technology, and online safety. Provide timely briefings to help press understand the Tech Coalition’s mission, programs, and event outcomes, and serve as a point of contact for relevant media inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Public Affairs, Communications, International Relations, or a related field).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public affairs, event management, or multi-stakeholder engagement (preferably within tech, government, nonprofit, or child protection sectors).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with political acumen and sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to lead high-impact events and manage complex projects.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-driven approach with an understanding of the importance of collaboration.
  • Deep commitment to making a positive impact and supporting child protection efforts.

Preferred but not required:
