Summary

Supports the objectives of the association specifically through content creation and digital communications as part of the Public Affairs team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following (other duties may be assigned):

I. Social Media and Digital Properties

  • Create content to cover and promote CTIA events and awards on the association’s official digital profiles.
  • Identify opportunities for CTIA to be part of the online conversation on industry issues.
  • Evaluate new and existing social platforms for CTIA’s presence.
  • Develop social media content to promote CTIA’s report launches, industry milestones, association policy objectives, etc., particularly on Instagram, YouTube, and YouTube Reels.
  • Work with the Director, Digital Strategy to grow the association’s followers on key channels.

II. Content Creation

  • Work closely with the Creative team to secure relevant visual collateral for digital properties and achieve brand consistency across all platforms.
  • Pitch and produce posts/content that broadens general understanding of complex, technical information from reports.
  • Have working knowledge of how to shoot/direct/edit content in office or on location and be willing to initiate learning of technical skills with the support of the Digital Strategy, Director.
  • Have hands-on experience with video production process using mobile devices or providing oversight to video and media production vendors.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, etc.), and other creative software preferred but not required.
  • Have a basic understanding of social and digital analytics and propose actionable steps to increase engagement and content performance.

III. Public Affairs

  • Assist with updating CTIA.org and other websites, including posting releases and updated information as needed.
  • Support the Manager, Digital Communications, and Director, Digital Strategy on departmental duties such as inbox management, weekly reports, and calendars. Provide support for internal communications as necessary.
  • Monitor and track the online presence of competitors, peers, and other stakeholders, and provide a regular cadence of reporting to internal stakeholders.
  • Evaluate monthly analytics reports and flag trends or other highlights for the SVP, Communications.

Knowledge

Familiarity with current digital and social media platforms and trends; interest in technology and policy helpful.

Computer Skills

Demonstrated proficiency with word processing and knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of WordPress and SharePoint preferred.

Education and/or Experience

4-year college degree required.

Language Skills

Detail-oriented with knowledge of grammar and punctuation. Proficiency in proofreading skills and strong communications skills are required.

This position may require overtime. Candidate must be flexible to work overtime if needed.

Location

CTIA is currently operating on a hybrid work schedule with in-person requirements on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in its Washington, DC office.
