Salary Range:

$178,000 – $198,000

Summary:

To interface with members of Congress and their staff to advocate on any legislative action impacting the wireless industry with the goal of promoting and protecting the interests of CTIA member companies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following (Other Duties May Be Assigned):

  • Develop and implement public policy activities, government, and industry lobbying efforts, and identify opportunities to advance CTIA’s legislative agenda.
  • Analyze and evaluate legislation to assess potential impacts on CTIA member companies in consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Government Affairs team members and across internal legal, regulatory, and technology teams to align strategy and coordinate advocacy efforts.
  • Develop relationships with members of Congress and their staff, member companies, outside consultants, and industry colleagues to build an advocacy network to advance CTIA’s policy positions.
  • Draft talking points, position papers, and strategy memos detailing CTIA’s policy positions and arguments.
  • Represent the association at industry and political events.
  • Keep apprised of industry developments and potential impacts on CTIA legislative priorities.

Supervisory Responsibilities (If Applicable):

Provide guidance to Manager, Government Affairs to ensure efficient and timely operation of Government Affairs Department.

Qualifications:

Knowledge:

Strong familiarity with Congressional rules and procedures is required. Good analytical and political skills are necessary, as well as the ability to understand technology and issues related to the industry.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and some advanced degree preferred. Legislative or Capitol Hill background necessary.

Language Skills:

Detail-oriented with knowledge of grammar and punctuation and ability to draft position papers, talking points, and hearing summaries. Proficiency in proofreading skills and strong communication skills are required.

This position may require overtime. Candidate must be flexible to work overtime if needed.

Location:

CTIA is currently operating on a hybrid work schedule with in-person requirements on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in its Washington, DC office.
