Director, Government Affairs
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director, Government Affairs to join our innovative team and lead our federal, state, and local government engagement across the country, contributing to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. This individual will manage a robust and rapidly evolving portfolio of legislation and will play a key role in shaping the company’s national policy strategy.
With many bills and initiatives currently pending in Congress, states, and local jurisdictions, the Director will identify, monitor, and respond to legislative and regulatory developments that could affect the business. One of the most exciting and timely issues this role will work on relates to the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must reside in the United States.
What You Will Be Doing
Identify and monitor pending legislation and regulatory actions at the federal, state, and local level that could impact the company, particularly as it relates to AI.
Analyze bills and policies for relevance, potential impact, and recommend appropriate responses.
Develop and execute a proactive, coordinated national strategy across various jurisdictions and issues to advance the company’s policy interests.
Hire, manage, and coordinate local lobbyists and consultants to advocate effectively on the company’s behalf.
Cultivate relationships with lawmakers, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
Draft and maintain clear, compelling policy position statements and issue-specific “playbooks” for internal and external use.
Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and testimony for hearings and meetings with government officials.
Represent the company in legislative hearings, stakeholder meetings, and policy forums.
Build coalitions and partnerships with industry groups, advocacy organizations, and peer companies where aligned.
Serve as a key advisor to internal teams (e.g., legal, product, communications, and executive leadership) on legislative trends and political risk.
Provide regular updates and strategic guidance to internal stakeholders on legislative and policy developments.
Adapt to the evolving policy landscape and take on additional responsibilities to support the company’s government affairs priorities.

What We Are Looking For
8+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or legislative advocacy, with a strong understanding of state-level legislative processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with legislators, regulators, and external stakeholders.
Proven project management experience including the ability to manage complex, multi-state legislative portfolios and coordinate efforts across internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience or expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning, or a strong interest and aptitude for quickly learning and engaging with these rapidly evolving technologies.
Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to navigate complex, ambiguous policy landscapes.
Comfort with public speaking, including testifying before legislative bodies.

Additional Details
This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, bagel Thursdays, snacks and occasional meals.
Base compensation range: $177,000 – $200,000.
Equity is included in the overall compensation package.
Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary.
This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience.
