ECS is seeking ARPA-H International Affairs Specialists (Basic, Mid, Advanced) to work in our remote office.

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is a new agency within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) focused on accelerating breakthroughs in health. ARPA-H operates with a high degree of flexibility and agility to support high-risk, high-reward research programs that have the potential to transform human health.
The International Affairs Specialist plays a critical role in supporting ARPA-H’s mission by supporting office leadership in the development and implementation of international strategies and associated work plans. In this role, you will provide strategic advice to senior leadership on potential initiatives in the region(s), including recommendations on international approaches and engagements that will further the Agency’s goals.
Other Duties May Include:
- Advising government agencies on biosecurity or public health securities issues
- Supporting global health security initiatives
- Biosecurity or public health security policy development
- Advising on foreign affairs, international relations, global health security, economics
- External engagement triage/tracking
- Project management tasks including strategy development
Salary Range: $80,000–$160,000

Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a federal government international affairs role, preferably in an R&D environment
- Experience in global health security, biosecurity, and/or public health policy development
- Previous experience advising government agencies on biosecurity or public health securities issues
- Experience in external engagement triage/tracking, project management, strategy development
- Policy experience in foreign affairs, international relations, global health security, and economics
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required per contract
- Active Public Trust or ability to obtain
Basic
- Minimum Bachelor’s and 6 years of experience
Mid
- Minimum Master’s and 7 years of experience
Advanced
- Minimum Master’s and 10 years of experience
Desired Skills
- At least 1 year experience supporting DARPA or related Federal “ARPA” agencies (IARPA, ARPA-E, HSARPA)
