The Redding Firm – Associate Position

The Redding Firm, a governmental affairs firm located on Capitol Hill, is looking for a legislative staff member to join our team as an associate working with clients in multiple issue areas, in addition to other firm responsibilities. This is an opportunity for an exceptional young professional to take the next step in a career within government affairs.

This position requires a candidate with a strong work ethic who is organized, communicates well, is able to manage multiple tasks, and has an eye for detail. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated leadership and professionalism. The position will include but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Research and write industry-related issue briefs and online columns for clients
  • Conduct research for and track legislation to prepare executive summaries and/or analyses detailing the findings of the research
  • Monitor, recommend, and draft effective industry social media posts for clients
  • Plan, schedule, and execute meetings such as Capitol Hill and Executive Branch appointments
  • Plan, schedule, and execute meetings and events for client fly-ins to Washington
  • Prepare slides/graphics/images for principal’s use in presentations and speeches
  • Represent firm at legislative hearings/meetings and political events when principal is not available
  • Perform various administrative tasks for the firm
