## Position Description
The Account Executive plays a key role in the Public Affairs team through conducting research on policy events, drafting public-facing communications materials, assisting with social media campaigns, and attending client meetings. Our Public Affairs team crafts and executes sophisticated communication strategies that help our clients connect with and influence key stakeholders across industries – from innovative healthcare solutions to cutting-edge technology, from global finance to national defense.
As part of our team, you’ll develop comprehensive engagement strategies, identify and analyze target audiences, and create persuasive messaging that resonates with decision-makers. This role combines strategic thinking, creative storytelling, and the excitement of seeing your work influence positive change in the public sphere, while working with diverse clients who are leaders in their fields. The ideal candidate will be a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a natural curiosity for the industry.
## As an Account Executive, you will:
– Develop and maintain general knowledge of legislation, public policy, and current events relevant to clients.
– Draft content including press releases, one-pagers, case studies, op-eds, website copy, social media, grassroots action alerts, and client reports.
– Assist in the development of social media campaigns (organic and paid).
– Maintain active communication, interface, and coordinate with state field teams on specific client projects.
– Provide support for client events including event planning, vendor outreach, logistics, and event staffing.
– Simultaneously support client-facing projects as well as internal projects for FTP.
– Attend client meetings to take diligent notes, update agendas, and coordinate follow-ups.
– Perform other duties as necessary to achieve departmental goals.
## To be successful, you will need:
– Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience
– Minimum 2–4 years of professional experience
– Organizational skills and responsiveness while juggling multiple priorities
– Familiarity with technological platforms including Microsoft Office Suite and major social media services
– Ability to leverage social media platforms to advance key causes, issues, and advocacy initiatives
– An eye for design and understanding of design tools such as Canva, HubSpot, WordPress, and SurveyMonkey
– Strong research, writing, and editing skills including attention to grammatical detail, clarity, speed, and accuracy
– Desire to continuously learn and develop skills in writing and critical analysis
– Ability to leverage social media platforms to advance key causes, issues, and advocacy initiatives
– Proven ability to operate with integrity and ethics, and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality
– High level of detail and demonstrated work output with little/no errors
– Sense of urgency; willingness and ability to meet and exceed established deadlines without sacrificing quality
– Organizational agility
## We prefer that you have:
– Major in political science, public policy, government, or related field
– Industry-specific professional experience, such as work on political campaigns, in private sector communications, on Capitol Hill, within the executive branch, in media, in management consulting, or for trade associations
– Strong Microsoft Excel skills
– Proficiency with data and media analysis tools or data metric analysis
