## Responsibilities
Join State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company—a proud Fortune 50 leader with a legacy of excellence since 1922—as we seek a dynamic and motivated attorney to lead the company’s government relations across multiple states. This State Counsel position is part of Corporate Law’s Legislative/Regulatory Section within State Farm’s Law Department, located in Bloomington, IL.

## Qualifications

### What We’re Looking For
– **Juris Doctorate** from an ABA‑accredited law school with outstanding academic credentials.
– **Active law license** in at least one state and in good standing with the bar.
– **Ability to obtain limited Illinois license** if not already licensed there.
– **Minimum 5 years’ experience** in one or more relevant areas (preferred).
– **Proactive legal approach** with strong commitment to high‑quality legal advice.
– **Agility in learning** and passion for continuous professional growth.
– **Team collaboration** in complex, fast‑paced environments.
– **Legal authorization** to work in the U.S. immediately; sponsorship not available.

### Additional Details
– **Periodic travel** to assigned states required.
– **No outside legal practice** except authorized pro bono; new hires must cease outside work before joining.
– **Flexibility** to work irregular hours as needed.
– **Relocation benefits** may be available depending on eligibility and position.

## Our Benefits

Because work‑life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard **38:45‑hour work week**.

– **Potential starting salary:** $137,000.00 – $200,000.00
– **Salary based on experience**
– **High‑end range** limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
– **Incentive pay:** Up to 30% of base salary annually
