## Senior Director, Federal Government Relations

This role is responsible for shaping and advancing Occidental’s federal government relations strategy in support of the company’s business objectives. The Senior Director will lead advocacy efforts on key legislative, regulatory, tax, environmental and energy policy issues; build and maintain relationships with Members of Congress, congressional staff, federal agencies, trade associations and other key stakeholders; and coordinate closely with internal business leaders to develop and communicate Oxy’s policy positions.

The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of the federal legislative and regulatory process, strong strategic judgment and the ability to translate complex business priorities into clear and effective public policy advocacy.

## Responsibilities

– **Develop and execute federal strategies** that advance Oxy’s business objectives.
– **Build and maintain relationships** with Members of Congress, congressional staff, federal agency officials and other policymakers.
– **Lead direct advocacy efforts** on legislative, regulatory, tax, environmental and energy policy issues impacting the company.
– **Monitor federal developments** and communicate implications and recommended actions to internal stakeholders.
– **Develop Oxy’s policy positions** in partnership with business leaders, legal, regulatory and other internal stakeholders.
– Prepare and deliver briefing materials, policy analyses, comment letters, talking points and other advocacy materials.
– Represent Oxy before trade associations, industry coalitions and other external organizations.
– Coordinate engagement between Oxy senior leadership and policymakers, including congressional offices, federal agencies and executive branch officials.
– Serve as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders on emerging policy issues and the federal political environment.
– Support the management of OXYPAC strategy and corporate political engagement activities, as applicable.

## Required Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree required.
– Minimum of 10 years of experience working with congressional, agency or executive branch policymakers on legislative and regulatory issues.
– Demonstrated experience developing and advancing public policy or lobbying strategies.
– Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
– Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders, external stakeholders and government officials.
– Proven ability to build consensus and strong working relationships across a complex organization.
– Strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to advance complex business objectives.
– Self‑motivated and able to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.

## Preferred Qualifications

– Established relationships with Members of Congress, congressional staff and administration officials.
– Experience in the energy, oil and gas, chemicals, utilities or other highly regulated industries.
– Experience managing political engagement strategy, including PAC‑related activities.
– Degree in public policy, political science, law, business or a related field.

## Salary Range

The salary range for this position is: **$176,000 – $242,000 annually**.

*Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements may receive consideration for a higher‑level role given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements and/or (3) business needs.*
