## Salary Range
$71,000.00 to $73,000.00 Annually

Everytown for Gun Safety is looking for two (2) Organizing Managers to join the Advocacy Campaigns team to continue the development and success of the organization. Each Organizing Manager oversees several state‑level volunteer chapters of Moms Demand Action, which also includes Everytown Survivor Network volunteers and collaboration with Students Demand Action volunteers. The role focuses on growing the volunteer base in their states, training chapter leaders and leadership teams, and building inclusive, equitable chapters that represent the diversity of each state.

Organizing Managers work with chapter leadership to develop strategic growth plans and grassroots organizing as well as electoral campaigns for each state. They assess needs, collaboratively set priorities, identify resources, and support chapters in communications, partnerships, educational work, and advocacy efforts. Organizing Managers conduct site visits, hold regular meetings with leaders, and run campaigns alongside members of other Everytown teams.

Organizing Managers receive training and resources upon starting, including background on the gun violence prevention movement, Everytown’s policy positions, managing for equity and inclusion, and volunteer management training. They are expected to provide strong support to volunteers, including timely and thoughtful communication.

This position is based in the NY or DC offices with a hybrid schedule, though remote work may be considered for the right candidate. The role requires some travel, flexibility across time zones, and occasional evening and weekend availability.

## RESPONSIBILITIES

### Chapter Growth and Building Power
– Implement innovative strategies to recruit new volunteers and mobilize action on priority campaigns.
– Collaboratively create and oversee growth plans for chapters, developing both breadth and depth of knowledge.
– Ensure volunteer chapters build sustainable, diverse grassroots field power to prevent gun violence.
– Utilize data on gun violence, chapter growth, and volunteer retention to guide chapter priorities.

### Develop Volunteer Leaders
– Mentor, train, and manage volunteer leaders to support and grow volunteer engagement; regularly assess engagement and development needs.
– Build diverse teams using management skills for equity and inclusion and equip volunteer leaders with the same skill set.
– Value different perspectives and proactively engage people with varied backgrounds to build a strong movement, while teaching volunteers to do the same.
– Lead by example through integrity and professionalism.
– Share direct feedback and listen to and implement feedback received.

### Organizing Strategy and Campaign Development
– Work closely with the Field Leadership Team, regional Organizing Directors, and cross‑departmental teams to develop national and local strategies.
– Collaboratively set long‑ and short‑term priorities with chapters; ensure work remains focused while maintaining flexibility to respond to new opportunities.
– Seed, encourage, and support tactical innovations from volunteers and help replicate successes.
– Ensure campaign plans reflect realities on the ground; act as a bridge between volunteers and stakeholders to ensure plans are realistic and set up to succeed.

### Represent Moms Demand Action and Everytown
– Serve as a thought partner between volunteer leaders and the organization; build confidence and excitement about priorities and choices.
– Maintain timely and regular communication with Chapter Leadership; serve as first point of contact and connect them to staff as needed.
– Serve as a public spokesperson when appropriate and approved.

### Other Duties
– Develop knowledge on gun violence prevention policy, local and regional politics, and relevant issues.
– Monitor social media and public platforms for appropriate content; ensure Chapter Leadership adheres to the Social Media Code of Conduct.
– Manage regional budgets and approve chapter budget requests.
– Serve as liaison between the Organizing Team and other departments.
– Other duties as assigned.

## QUALIFICATIONS
– Understanding of stereotypes, bias, and forms of racism in America—including structural racism, implicit bias, gender bias, religious bias, ageism, and bias based on gender identity or sexual orientation—and ability to articulate their connection to the disproportionate impact of gun violence on specific demographic groups.
– Understanding of power, voice, and privilege in interactions, and commitment to using them to make the movement more equitable.
– Passion for the organization’s mission.
– Strong volunteer or staff management skills, particularly experience working with diverse or marginalized communities and volunteer leaders.
– Passion for and demonstrated experience developing and mentoring volunteers or staff.
– Organizing or campaign experience (issue or electoral).
– Experience writing and leading trainings.
– Ability to understand, evaluate, and articulate policy and strategic planning issues.
– Strong interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work with deadlines, under pressure, and with flexibility.
– Ability to travel within the US; up to 25% travel may be required.
– Self‑motivated and proactive problem solver.
– Comfort with social media, data management, and technology including VAN, Google Suite, and Slack.
– Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
